Who Is Zordan's Racing?

Hi, my name is Mike Zordan. I have been involved in racing since 1980. I have been driving since 1992. I have raced and won in many types of of race cars. Currently, I have won over 40 A feature races with many heat race wins as well, too many to count. A small list of cars raced were factory stock, sportsmans, limited late models, dirt and asphalt modifieds, go carts roadrace and even a cup car on the Lowe's Motor Speedway for a driving school experience. My biggest highlight was winning 4 $10,000 enduro races which started an average of 100 race cars at once, leaving the wrecked cars on the track for the entire race. We also won two championships and runner up twice in the factory stock division at Kalamazoo Speedway. Recently we have been running in the superlate model and modified division. 2006 we won the A feature super latemodel race at M40 and 2007 saw us win 3 in row A-feature at Kalamazoo Speedway in the modified division.

I have a passion for hobbies and enjoy many different ones. Some of my favorite hobbies include racing, fishing, motorcycles, snowmobiles, wind surfing, golfing, boating and spending time with my family.

Career Highlights

Won 1st race attempted, captured one "A" Feature win, finished 7th Place in points, and was awarded "Rookie of the Year" in the Factory Stock division.

Finished 2nd Place Points with two wins in the Factory Stock division.

Won the 1994 Factory Stock Points Championship with 9 Feature wins. Was awarded the "Hard Charger Award" by Kalamazoo Speedway and won 9th Annual $10,000 US Enduro Championship.

Finished 2nd place in points in the Factory Stock division with 5 feature wins. Finished 8th Place in points in the Limited Latemodel division and was awarded "Rookie of the Year" in same class. Won the 250 Lap Enduro at Galesburg Speedway.

Won the Factory Stock Points Championship with 9 Feature wins, while finishing 7th in points in the Limited Latemodel division at Kalamazoo Speedway. Was awarded the "Hard Charger Award" by Kalamazoo Speedway. Finished 6th Place points with 1 Feature win in IMCA at Hartford Speedway.

Won 12th Annual $10,000 US Enduro Championship and the Larry Day Memorial Championship Race at Kalamazoo Speedway. Won 3rd Annual $10,000 Enduro Race at Galesburg Speedway. Participated in an A.S.A pit crew team.

Finished 5th place in points in the Limited Latemodel Division at Kalamazoo Speedway with two wins and nine top three finishes. Took a 2nd place finish in the Memorial Day , $15,000 400 lap Enduro Championship at Kalamazoo Speedway, which paid $8000.00.

& 2000:  Participated full-time in the McDonald's Drive-thru A.S.A pit crew team for the 1999 season and continued to help in 2000. I advanced my knowledge of racecar chassis set-ups, and race preparation. I had many very important jobs from assistant crew chief to tire specialist. I learned how to make important race decisions, such as: when to pit for tires in a race, read the race track conditions, how-to and when to adjust the racecar chassis set-up, understand communications between the driver and race team and most of all, promote all the sponsors in the best way possible. In these two years, I was able to build a new 32' X 64' race facility for my racing business, and a new home for my family. I finished third in the 400 lap US Enduro Championship in 1999. In 2000, I participated in a couple races and tested a few Super- Late and Limited latemodel cars at Kalamazoo Speedway. I also won the 15th. Annual, $10,000 300 lap Enduro Championship at Kalamazoo Speedway.

& 2003:  Raced limited shows with our new outlaw super late model. Finished 16th to race winner Tony Stewart at Berlin, he went on to win the Winston Cup Championship. Design and Tested new front-end geometrys and roll centers.

Qualified 2nd fast at the annual Supershoe Nationals with over 200 car attending. 2002 also seen the joining of Zordan's Racing(Mike Zordan) and Fast Car Chassis(Steve Brown), which included the building of a new modified and street stock.

After completing a new modified, our team did some intensive testing on a new front suspension geometry set-up. This included a few races for the new car at Kalamazoo Speedway and Berlin Speedway. Our car was in the top 5 fastest all day and in the race we started moving through the pack at Berlin Speedway, when a part failure caused a handling problem and we finished 10th in the race.

We raced our mod in a special modified invitational race call the Kalamzoo Klassic which we qualified very well and finished the race in 11th with the brakes starting to fail.

Included the building of a new limited latemodel, which was tested and raced in the Kalamazoo Supershoe, where we qualified 5th out of about 200 cars.

We upgraded our limited latemodel with a new body and raced the first two shows at Kzoo. The first week saw us come from the back and finish 3rd. The second week saw us come from the back to battle for the lead with 3 laps to go, the leader pinched us down, which caused us to get loose and instead of taking the leader out, we spin to avoid a wreck, causing us to go to the tail. We then directed our efforts to building a brand new superlate model. 2006 also seen us win the mid-season championship A-feature race at M40 Speedway in the Richard Reiter owned Super Late Model. Mike also won the Kalamazoo Speedway annual 250 lap, $5000.00 to win, Enduro race which started a record setting car count of over 220 cars.

was a winning year for our team as we won 5 times in the first 5 nights at Kalamazoo Speedway with our modified, including 3 A-feature wins in a row.   2007 also seen Mike Zordan prepare and crew chief a superlate model for the famous Butch Miller(all-time most wins in ASA). Our sucesses in 2007 set up our season for 2008, as we built one new modified and now are in the proocess of building a third modified for our 2008 race team.

seen us race only 11 times with 4 rain outs, because of low funds and sponsorship. We funded most of our racing from our winnings. We won 2 races, finished 2nd five times and only finished outside the top ten only one time. Our best accomplishments were qualifying fast time at Winchester and also finishing 2nd in the USA Modified feature both at Salem and Winchester, some of the hardest and fastest short track racing in the country and for us being the first time there in the mods was a great accomplishment.

Tried dirt track racing again, since 1996. Also decided to race for points championship at Hartford Motor Speedway. I haven't raced for points since 1998! We finished 2nd in the Factory Stock Points Championship along with 'Rookie of the Year' award. We had two wins and 9 secoond place, 5 third place, and a boat load of top five finishes! Worst finish all year was 6th place. Had a lot of fun and close to home.
